Selfish gene

By and large
my children seized
a certain 'form' from me

but what's in charge?

- A sideways grin,
a run that seems
like Mr. Bean
and freckly skin -

Me, their Dad
can hope these lads
grow branches, forge
beyond a stem
by (being them)
and large.

  2. There aren't enough poems from fathers to their kids. You'd think there would be tons of them (considering how often poets write about their own parents) but fatherly poems seem hard to find. Great work, man.

  3. Wonderful! Enjoyed this one very much, and so agree with that there are not enough of these. Fathers in words for their children. Well written!
