Meaning

Armtellinthee

intdesurt

when a wise man, big cheese, shaman,

seer, spake;

‘Before we’re born, we choose our fate

and then we’re born into our fate. To live fate!

Andrew, before his birth,

chose to be a teacher.

He sacrificed a normal form

for parents

to learn about love,

learn warmth,

humanity.

He gave a great

gift.

He sacrificed his life

for your sake!’

And do I believe this man?

No!
Now it’s not belief.

Beyond an explanation,

I know through

knowledge,

experience

of a Truth.

  1. I very rarely write anything that resembles poetry.

    However I wrote this yesterday.
    Is this poetry?

    ~Morning Melancholy~

    A cloudy cool morning
    drinking coffee on the porch
    watching birds flit about
at peace with who I am
    for now

  2. Yes, it's poetry - or the start of a poem!

  3. Opening resembles Joyce's anarchic style in Finnegan's Wake. Reliance on the personal, rather thas the universal, though, is limiting. The poet should aim for generality as well as retaining the intimicy of the particular inspiration.

  4. The Wounded Healer by Joan Halifax goes into the sickness of the "spirits" that call on a shaman. You have tapped his difference & delivered it to us & helped us to see from different angles. You guys are truly part of one another & your creative activity can be seen as shamanic. The creative part is essential...Damn, too long, again. Love your stuff
